The Tennessee Supreme Court has issued a number of orders suspending Tennessee-licensed attorneys who do not pay their 2012 registration fee to the Board of Professional Responsibility and/or do not file a mandatory compliance statement that eligible client funds are held in accounts participating in the Interest on Lawyers' Trust Accounts (IOLTA) program. Those names appear first. The court also has issued separate orders for those attorneys who file their IOLTA report but do not pay their fee, and those attorneys who pay their fee but do not file the IOLTA report.

The Board of Professional Responsibility has revoked pro hac vice permission for the following attorneys due to their failure to pay the annual registration fee required by Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 19. Attorneys who have since complied with the requirements, and for whom notice has been received from the court, are noted as reinstated.

Suspensions: CLE Suspensions

The following attorneys were suspended by the Supreme Court on Aug. 31, 2011, for failing to comply with Rule 21 of the Rules of the Tennessee Supreme Court, which requires mandatory continuing legal education, during the 2010 compliance year. Attorneys who have since complied with CLE requirements, and for whom notice has been received from the court, are noted as reinstated.

On July 8, 2009, the Supreme Court of Tennessee adopted amendments to Rules 8 and 43 of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Tennessee requiring all attorneys who hold eligible client funds to participate in the Tennessee Bar Foundation's Interest on Lawyers' Trust Accounts (IOLTA) program. These amendments were effective Jan. 1, 2010, and the 2010 Mandatory IOLTA Compliance Statement was included with the Board of Professional Responsibility's 2010 Annual Registration Statement.

The following attorneys were suspended by the Tennessee Supreme Court on Dec. 3, 2010, for failure to pay the 2009 and 2010 state professional privilege tax as required by Tennessee Code Annotated 67-4-1 702. Pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 9, Section 32, attorneys who fail to pay the fee for at least two consecutive years, are summarily suspended. Attorneys who have since complied with the requirements, and for whom notice has been received from the court, are noted as reinstated.
