Candidates Deemed Elected

In accordance with Section 42(a) of the TBA Bylaws, TBA Executive Director Sheree Wright has certified that the following members have been elected to the office named for the 2026-2027 bar year. At its January meeting, the TBA Board of Governors declared them automatically elected. They will take office at the TBA Convention in June.

Contested Election Results

Following a contested election for the office of vice president (a one-year term) and a voting period from Jan. 30 to Feb. 13, TBA members elected Knoxville lawyer Mary Elizabeth Maddox to be TBA's vice president in 2026-2027.
 

Vacancies

Updated 4/14/26: At its March meeting, the TBA Board of Governors appointed two attorneys to fill vacancies on the board for the 2026-2027 bar year. Western Grand Division governor will be Geoffrey Lewis, associate general counsel at Memphis Light, Gas & Water. Filling the open seat of 7th District governor will be Joshua Dougan with Dougan Law and Mediation in Jackson. Read more about this action.

At its January meeting, the TBA Board of Governors declared that a vacancy exists in the following positions. In accordance with Article 47 of the TBA Bylaws, the Board of Governors will fill the vacancies at its next meeting. Those interested in being considered for the positions should email a statement of interest and resume to TBA Executive Director Sheree Wright at barED@tnbar.org by March 3.
