For those who would like to learn more about conservatorship work, the TBA is offering a free one-hour Zoom discussion on best practices, with a focus on general practice and small and solo firms. Nashville lawyer Amy Willoughby Bryant and Lebanon lawyer Travenia Holden will present the session on April 25 from 2-3 p.m. CDT. An optional hour of CLE credit is available for $50. TBA’s Practice Management Center has expanded resources in the Winding Down A Firm section offering a new tutorial video and a new 48-page handbook thanks to Nashville area lawyer and TBA member Timothy “Tim” Takacs of Takacs McGinnis Elder Care Law. The handbook includes sample language and forms, a planning toolkit and a sample office policy manual for your practice.

TBA’s Practice Management Center offers comparison charts on many legal tech tools. This month, updates have been made to PDF programs and web meeting services. A new comparison chart on Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 is also now available. It highlights the strengths and weaknesses of Google and Microsoft.

Arizona-based Guidant Law Firm yesterday announced it is expanding its entertainment practice with the opening of a new office in Brentwood. Entertainment attorney James Kuzmich will lead the new office in helping artists negotiate legal contracts, such as record deals, management, production, publishing and licensing agreements, trade name protection and copyright registration and termination.
