In Tennessee, and many states, owners on major construction projects often hold back or “retain” a portion of any payment otherwise due to a general contractor in response to the general contractor’s invoice (draw request or request for payment). Many out-of-state owners and/or developers are unaware of the rigid statutory obligations in Tennessee that surround this protocol. TBA Hiring Access to Justice Director, Longtime Staff Member Todaro to Depart TBA
The Tennessee Bar Association is accepting applications from candidates interested in the position of director of access to justice and strategic initiatives. This full-time position is responsible for leading the association’s efforts to expand access to legal services and improve the justice system, while advancing strategic initiatives that support organizational priorities, including policy advocacy, public service collaborations and leadership-driven projects.
