Join the TBA Attorney Well Being Committee on Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. CDT for a free webinar on how to find a therapist who fits your individual needs. The program will feature three speakers: Adam Hill, an estate planning lawyer who teaches mindfulness techniques to attorneys; Chase Pittman, a lawyer and coach at Tin Man, a Tennessee-based company focused on helping people learn leadership skills through one-on-one mentoring, education, training and consulting; and Lauren Castor, a clinical case manager with the Tennessee Lawyers Assistance Program (TLAP). The TBA will host a webinar on May 3 from noon to 1 p.m. CDT to look at the health and wellness impacts of changing our clocks for Daylight Saving Time. Join us as we explore the science and advocacy related to this practice. Joanna McCracken, chair of the TBA’s Attorney Well Being Committee, will interview Dr. Beth Malow, director of the Vanderbilt Sleep Division, who has testified on the health aspects related to the practice of changing clocks and has spearheaded legislation to end Daylight Saving Time in Tennessee. Join your colleagues on Friday for a virtual, free roundtable discussion of the work being done by the TBA Women in the Profession Committee. The committee conducted a survey of licensed Tennessee attorneys and held focus groups in Nashville, Knoxville and Memphis last year. During this week’s session, Interim Executive Director Barry Kolar will present findings of the survey and Roberta Pettis of FocusWorks Consulting will discuss focus group results. Join members of the TBA Attorney Well Being Committee for a live interactive roundtable for law students and young lawyers on how best to manage work-life balance as a legal professional. This 45-minute Zoom event on March 29 at noon CDT will feature seasoned lawyers discussing their day-to-day practice, and provide effective tools for personal well-being. The event is free and open to all currently enrolled law students and TBA members but reservations are required. Questions and feedback are encouraged for this interactive roundtable. Join the TBA for a panel discussion on diversifying the judicial branch on Jan. 23 from noon to 1:30 p.m. CST. Produced by the TBA Committee on Racial & Ethnic Diversity, this free event is the first part of a series focused on providing minority lawyers the tools needed when seeking judgeships. The series will feature candid discussions on preparation for running, financing, campaigning, transition of practice and other needs. Panelists include Mary Beard, Judge Ana L.
