A group of 50 early voters got ballots with the wrong congressional race on them, the Daily Memphian reports, citing a Shelby County Election Commission announcement. The mix-up was discovered Monday at Berclair Church of Christ where voters who should have received ballots for the 8th Congressional district race received ballots for the 9th Congressional district race instead. Corrected ballots were issued for the rest of that day and throughout the early voting period that ended yesterday. “Out of an abundance of caution, we then conducted another thorough review of all other precincts and no further issues were identified,” Shelby County Elections Administrator Linda Phillips said in an emailed statement to the paper.

The Associated Press reports that some Tennessee voters have cast ballots in the wrong congressional district. Davidson County Election Administrator Jeff Roberts says that at least one precinct has been affected. In that precinct, there is conflicting information between the legislature’s and the secretary of state’s maps, leading to some residents casting their ballots in the 6th district when they should be in the 7th district. Republican Congressman Mark Green is running against Democrat Odessa Kelly for that seat. During the redistricting process a few months ago, Republicans split the city of Nashville into three new districts.

Former Tennessee House Speaker Beth Harwell contends the transfer of money from her state political action committee to a super PAC that supported her failed congressional bid this summer was legal. But a watchdog group says Harwell’s actions are “outside the law,” which prohibits more than $5,000 in state election funds from being used for federal campaigns, Tennessee Lookout reports. The Campaign Legal Center says it is considering filing a complaint with the Federal Election Commission against the campaign. Harwell claims the use of the funds was vetted by attorneys and accountants working for her campaign. Harwell lost the Republican primary for the seat to former Maury County Mayor Andy Ogles.

Democrats have long sought to find a candidate to run against Crowe for the District 3 seat. In the August primary both candidates ran unopposed. Craig says she would like to see the state’s abortion trigger law pulled back, public schools fully funded and creation of a state hospital oversight board. The publication reports that Crowe declined to be interviewed for the story.

A 6th Circuit Court of Appeals panel has declined to reinstate Thomas “T.B.” Burrell as a candidate for mayor of Mason, the West Tennessee community that drew national attention this year when it resisted calls by state officials to dissolve, Tennessee Lookout reports. The court sided with the Tipton County Election Commission, which ruled Burrell had failed to meet a six-month residency requirement spelled out in Mason’s election laws.

Tennesseans will be asked to vote on four proposed amendments to the state constitution on Nov. 8. To pass, any amendment must receive more "yes" votes than "no" votes, and the number of "yes" votes must be greater than the majority of the total votes cast in the gubernatorial election. WBIR looks at each of the amendments, which include Amendment 1: Right-to-Work; Amendment 2: Assigning an Acting Governor; Amendment 3: Removing Slavery as a Punishment for Crime; and Amendment 4: Removing the Religious Minister Disqualification.
