The Nashville Arts and Business Council will host a Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts pro bono legal clinic on Aug. 2 from 6 - 8 p.m. (CDT) at the East Park Community Center, 600 Woodland St., Nashville 37206. The clinic will provide pro bono legal services to income-qualified artists, emerging arts nonprofit organizations, and creative businesses in drafting and reviewing contracts, protecting work with copyright and trademark and resolving arts-related disputes. The Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands will hold two clinics this week. Tomorrow, the group will hold a clinic from 4-6 p.m. EDT at its Oak Ridge office, 575 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Ste. 201, Oak Ridge 37830. On Saturday, a general advice clinic will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. CDT at Belmont University, 2005 12th Ave. S., Nashville 37204. Memphis Area Legal Services will host the June Second Saturday Legal Advice Clinic on July 8 at the Benjamin Hooks Central Library, 3030 Poplar Ave., Memphis 38111 from 10 a.m.-noon CDT. The clinic operates on a first come, first served basis.

Legal Aid of East Tennessee will host a free virtual clinic on July 15 at 10 a.m. EDT to assist adults seeking to change their names, Knox News reports. Participants will receive step-by-step assistance in completing their name change petitions as well as advice on filing pro-se. Interested individuals must pre-register by July 7 by calling 423-402-4765.
