Legal Aid of Middle Tennessee & the Cumberlands will host four clinics this week. Tomorrow, the group will hold a clinic at the Nashville Public Library from 4-6 p.m. On Thursday, it will hold an expungement clinic in Columbia from 1-4 p.m. On Friday, it will hold a legal aid clinic in Columbia from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. And on Saturday, it will hold its McHugh Clinic in Nashville from 9:30-11:30 a.m. All times central. Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts (VLPA), Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and the Nashville Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) will hold a pro bono tax consultation clinic for artists, musicians and creatives on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. CST. Attendees will learn how to file their taxes or can meet with a financial counselor to discuss ways to manage debt or repair credit scores. The clinic is presented by the United Way of Greater Nashville. It will take place at the FEC office, 217 South 10th St., Nashville 37206. Learn more or sign up to volunteer.

The Memphis Bar Association will hold its Second Saturday Legal Clinic on Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to noon CST at the Benjamin Hooks Central Library, 3030 Poplar Ave., Memphis 38111.  Volunteers should arrive by 9:30 a.m. for instructions. Learn more here.

A fair housing, consumer law and conservatorship clinic sponsored by Memphis Area Legal Services (MALS) in partnership with The Hub will take place Wednesday from 1-3 p.m. CST. The clinic, which is held on the fourth Wednesday of the month, takes place at 590 Washington Ave., Memphis 38105. WPLN’s new podcast series "The Kids of Rutherford County" is out and available for streaming, and now a live event is scheduled for the end of the month. On Nov. 29, the Belcourt Theater will feature show host Meribah Knight for a live discussion about the series. The podcast, which was produced in partnership with ProPublica, The New York Times and Serial Production, builds on investigative reporting on the juvenile justice system in Rutherford County, where children were being arrested and illegally jailed for over a decade. The Tennessee Department of Revenue is offering a free virtual seminar on updating tax accounts in the TNTAP system.  The program will cover what information can and cannot be changed in TNTAP, along with tutorials on how to make changes. The program will take place on Nov. 28 at 9 a.m. CST.

The East Tennessee Lawyers Association for Women (ETLAW) is hosting its annual toiletry drive to benefit the Knoxville YWCA. The YWCA's housing project relies on toiletry packages every year to distribute to women in need. Items can be dropped off at or shipped to the LMU Duncan School of Law, 601 W. The Arts & Business Council's Volunteer Lawyers and Professionals for the Arts is joining the law firm of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings to provide free legal services for nonprofits and Black-owned small businesses in Nashville on Dec. 21. Advice will cover business formation, corporate governance, contracts and navigating local ordinances and state regulations. Eligible entities may receive up to one hour of assistance. The discussion about the state of legal aid will be moderated by Yale University lecturer and author Lincoln Caplan.
