The Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference (TNDAGC) will host the South East Prosecutor Job Fair on June 24. The event will feature representatives from a variety of prosecutor offices from Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, Florida and South Carolina. The TBA offices will be closed Wednesday for Juneteenth, a federal and state holiday in the United States commemorating emancipation of enslaved African Americans. The TBA will reopen on Thursday at 8 a.m. CDT. Staff information, including emails and direct phone lines, can be accessed on the TBA website.

Join the Nashville School of Law (NSL) on June 7 at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel to honor the NSL Class of 1974 on its 50th anniversary. In addition, Nashville attorney Bill Harbison will be honored for his community service, including 15 years as a contracts professor at the law school.

The Arts & Business Council's Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts (VLPA) and Bradley partner each month to provide free business-oriented legal services to Black-owned small businesses and nonprofits. Assistance includes business formation and corporate governance, review of contracts and guidance in navigating local ordinances and state regulations. Registration is now open for the June 20 clinic. Clients should register by June 17. Attorneys interested in volunteering should email vlpa@abcnashville.org.

Registration is now open for the Tennessee Alliance for Legal Services (TALS) Equal Justice University Conference. Co-sponsored by the TBA, the conference will take place Aug. 28-30 at the Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro. This year’s event, with the theme "Cultivating Civil Justice Leaders to Protect the Promise," will feature award presentations, inspiring keynote speakers, networking opportunities, CLE sessions and other special events. EJU is the largest gathering of Tennessee's equal justice community.

The next legal clinic for veterans in Knoxville will take place June 12 from 12-2 p.m. EST at the Knox County Public Defender's Community Law Office in Knoxville. This is a general advice clinic sponsored by the Knoxville Bar Association, KBA Barristers, Legal Aid of East Tennessee, Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law, the University of Tennessee College of Law, the Knox County Public Defender’s Community Law Office and the local Veterans Affairs office. A new exhibit at the State Library and Archives marking the state's 228th anniversary will open on Saturday in Nashville. The “Dear Governor” exhibit will feature correspondences from constituents during the tenures of various Tennessee governors, some going back to the earliest days of the state. Officials promise the materials will provide an “incredible glimpse into the moments and events that shaped the earliest tenures of the state’s leaders.” June 1, which is known as Statehood Day, will be celebrated in style at the library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. CDT with live music, historical interpreters, behind-the scenes tours, crafts and more.

May is Asian and Pacific Islander (API) Heritage Month, recognizing the achievements of the Asian, Pacific Islander and Native Hawaiian communities. On May 30 from 5-7 p.m. CDT, the Nashville Bar Association's (NBA) Diversity Committee will host a reception at Bass, Berry & Sims to celebrate the people, culture and businesses of Nashville’s API community.
