The Tennessee Lawyers Assistance Program will host its 7th annual CAMP TLAP March 30 to April 1 at Montgomery Bell State Park. Educational programming includes sessions on mitigating compassion fatigue, how to handle a BPR complaint and the role narcissism plays in addiction. "Thinking about Law School?" is the theme of a workshop for prospective law students to be held March 14 at the University of Tennessee College of Law. The free event, to be held from 3 to 6:30 p.m., is for college graduates, currently enrolled college or community college students, high school students and school advisers. Participants will learn how they can prepare for law school as an undergraduate and how to choose the right law school. All sessions will be held in Room 132 of the law school. The law firm of Hall Booth Smith & Slover PC is hosting its second annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at Rooster’s Texas Style BBQ and Steakhouse in Nashville. The event, March 15 from 5 to 8 p.m., will unite members of the legal community from across Nashville, while benefiting Hands On Nashville, Hospital Hospitality House and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and beer will be available with a $10 donation at the door.

The Public Action Law Society at the University of Memphis School of Law will host a fundraising luncheon for its Alternative Spring Break on Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. in the law school Student Lounge, and a benefit show at Earnestine & Hazel's that night at 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 for the luncheon and donations will be accepted at the door during the show. Food will be provided by numerous local donors, and all members of the downtown business and legal communities are invited to attend. A silent auction will also be held during the luncheon with bidding items donated by Memphis businesses.

Bradley County Juvenile Judge Dan Swafford and Sarah Anderson of Bradley County's Court Appointed Special Advocates spoke to the Cleveland Kiwanis Club recently to explain the important roles CASA volunteers play in the lives of many children and teens. Anderson was also promoting CASA's fundraiser, the Red Shoe Gala, which is scheduled for 6 p.m., Feb. 11, at Cleveland's Old Woolen Mill. Read it in The Cleveland Dailey Banner
