Big Brothers Big Sisters is hosting its annual “Lawyers for Littles” bowling fundraiser June 4 at 5:30 p.m. at Nashville's AMF Pla-Mor Lanes. Six-person teams will compete for the best bowling score, team name and costumes/bowling shirts. Lawyers, law firms, legal organizations and law-related vendors are encouraged to participate. The Arts and Business Council of Greater Nashville, in conjunction with the Nashville Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, will host a fundraiser May 27 for the Tennessee Volunteer Lawyers and Professionals for the Arts. The Juvenile Justice Consortium of Memphis and Shelby County is holding a public forum May 16 in Frayser to hear from parents and juveniles about their experiences with the city and county juvenile court. The 9th annual CASA Road Race will be May 30 at Crockett Spring Park in historic downtown Rogersville. The event will include an 8K and one-mile road race. All proceeds will benefit CASA for Kids Inc., which represents abused and neglected children in Hawkins County. Eat the Street Food Truck Festival” returns to Franklin on May 8, Williamson Source reports. The annual event, which benefits the 21st Judicial District Drug Court and attracted an estimated 10,000 attendees last year, will be moving from Main Street to the recently completed Bicentennial Park on 3rd Ave. The event will run from 5 to 9 p.m. and feature more than 40 food trucks.

The disABILITY Resource Center (dRC) and the City of Knoxville are sponsoring a celebration in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on May 14. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Market Square Mall. Bar associations and legal organizations across the state are gearing up for this year’s Law Day with events that begin this week. Activities include luncheons, a memorial service, recognition of public and legal service and inspiring remarks from Tennessee and national leaders. The theme of the this year’s Law Day is “Magna Carta: Symbol of Freedom Under Law,” which asks Americans to remember and reflect on the legal concept that no one, no matter how powerful, is above the law. This year marks the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta.
