The 4th Annual “SOLO Time at Bristol” autocross competition will be held at the Bristol Motor Speedway June 6 and 7. More than 100 competitors are expected. They will drive a timed precision course on a flat track. Spectators also may pay $10 to ride the course at competition speed with participating drivers. All proceeds benefit Legal Aid of East Tennessee. Learn more about the event.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is working with area law firms, the TBA and other legal organizations to launch a Patent Pro Bono program in Tennessee. Kickoff events will be held Monday in Nashville and Wednesday in Memphis. The event will bring inventors and small businesses together with attorneys to learn about a nationwide program created through a White House initiative to connect income-constrained individuals with pro bono patent services. The Nashville program will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at Arciplex, 504 Sixth Ave. South, with a reception to follow at Encore, 301 Demonbreun. RSVP to coliver@ncbar.org. The year’s first Community Legal Forum – a joint initiative of the Bradley County Bar Association, the Bradley Governmental Law Library Commission and the Cleveland/Bradley Public Library – will take place June 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the library. Cleveland attorney Jack Tapper will lead the session, which is free and open to the public. The program will look at the basics of processing Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income claims as well as ways to increase Social Security benefits for married, divorced and widowed spouses, the Cleveland Banner reports.

A blood drive to help Tennessee Supreme Court Chief Justice Sharon Lee’s grandchildren is scheduled for May 28 in three Knoxville area locations: 9 a.m. to noon at Legend Fitness off of Middlebrook Pike; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the First Tennessee Plaza on Gay Street; and 2 to 5 p.m. at Fort Sanders West Health Center. The Kids First Child Advocacy Center of the Ninth Judicial District is hosting its 13th annual fundraising dinner and silent auction at the Tellico Village Yacht Club on June 2. The organization helps children in Loudon, Roane, Morgan and Meigs counties recover from physical and sexual abuse. The theme for the dinner, "A Child's Voyage ... from Victim to Survivor," emphasizes the path from abuse to healing and how to move past feelings of guilt. Knoxville lawyer Wanda Sobieski will be honored with the Lizzie Crozier French Award at the 2015 East Tennessee Women’s Leadership Summit, scheduled for June 12. The award, named for the Knoxville-born educator and activist, recognizes Sobieski’s efforts to create a women’s suffrage statue on Market Square. On Thursday, Sobieski will speak on the importance of remembering the suffrage movement at 5:45 p.m. at The Avenue, 141 N. Martinwood Rd. Knoxnews has more.
