The Knox County Juvenile Court will hold an auction and chili cook-off on Nov. 13 to raise money for its Volunteer Advisory Board and annual appreciation dinner for foster care parents and children. The TBA Young Lawyers Division will hold information sessions about the Diversity Leadership Institute this month. The sessions will feature program leaders and graduates, who will provide an overview of the program and application process, as well as answer questions. The first session will take place tomorrow at noon at the University of Tennessee College of Law. A session at the University of Memphis School of Law will take place Oct. 16 at noon. The Lawyers’ Association for Women Marion Griffin Chapter will hold its annual New Admittees’ Breakfast on Nov. 3 at the Nashville Music City Center, Meeting Room 101, 201 Fifth Ave. S. Melanie D. Wilson, dean of the University of Tennessee College of Law, will be the keynote speaker. The program is scheduled for 8 – 9 a.m. The Tennessee Bar Association will also hold an open house and luncheon for the new attorneys. It will take place at the Tennessee Bar Center between the morning and afternoon ceremonies.

The annual TBA Academy offers an exciting opportunity for Tennessee attorneys to be admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and network with some of the nation’s leading appellate practitioners. The 2015 TBA Academy will take place Dec. 1-3 in Washington, D.C., at The Hay Adams Hotel. Participating attorneys will be sworn in before the court in a private ceremony on Dec. 2.
