The East Tennessee Lawyers Association for Women (ETLAW) will hold a benefit on March 5 for the Restoration House of East Tennessee, an organization that aids low-income single mothers and their children through transitional housing, family advocacy and youth development. The event is 5 to 7 p.m. at the The Mezz, 4 Market Square, Knoxville 37902. Attendees are asked to bring the following for the house: laundry baskets, welcome mats, stovetop cleaner, liquid laundry detergent and dishwasher soap, paper towels, toilet paper, tall kitchen trash bags, sponges, toilet bowl cleaner, multipurpose cleaner and disinfecting wipes. The Nashville Bar Association will host Diversity 2020: Setting the Vision for Diversity within the Legal Profession on March 6-7 at Belmont University in Nashville. The Tennessee Bar Association and the TBA Young Lawyers Division are among the sponsors of this day-and-a-half conference that will focus on the importance of moving beyond achieving diversity in numbers toward the higher goal of inclusion within the workplace. Everyone is welcome to attend, but the target audience of the event includes hiring partners, managers, organizational diversity and inclusion officers, human resource officers or anyone responsible for recruitment or retention within a firm or organization. Find more information and get registered on the NBA’s website.

The Knoxville Bar Association and the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands will host legal clinics for veterans tomorrow. The KBA’s Veterans’ Legal Advice Clinic is a general advice and referral clinic held on the second Wednesday of each month from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Public Defender’s Community Law Office at 1101 Liberty St., Knoxville. Attorney and law student volunteers are needed. LAS holds its Veteran’s Project Legal Help Clinic every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m at Operation Stand Down, 1125 12th Ave. S., Nashville.
