The TBA’s Court Square Series is headed for Clarksville on Nov. 2. This three-hour program will provide attorneys with the latest developments in multiple areas of the law. Kick off the afternoon with a lunch and learn networking session with TBA leadership. Other substantive CLE topics will be announced soon. The TBA’s Real Estate Law Section will present its annual Hot Topics in Real Estate program on Nov. 4. The CLE, produced in cooperation with the Tennessee Land Title Association, is now being offered as a virtual-only program. Topics at this year’s program will include legislative and case law updates, ethics, an Airbnb panel discussion, horizontal property regime issues and more. The program will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. CDT.

The TBA is hitting the road and coming to Covington! The three-hour Court Square program set for Wednesday is designed to provide attorneys with the latest developments in multiple areas of the law. The afternoon will start with a lunch and learn networking session with TBA President Tasha Blakney. Then TBA’s Director of Public Policy & Government Affairs Berkley Schwarz will provide a legislative update. Amber Shaw of Harris Shelton will provide insights into navigating concurrent civil and criminal cases, and William Wooten of the Wooten Law Office will wrap up the day with an overview of employment law. The 2022 Creditors Practice Annual Forum will be held in person Wednesday at 1212 Germantown, located at 1212 6th Ave. N., Nashville 37208. Practitioners in the creditors practice field can earn three general and one dual CLE credits. The program will cover Regulation F, navigating ethical issues in a remote work world, an update on landlord tenant law and developments in bankruptcy law. After the program, stay and mingle with fellow attendees, speakers and section executive council members at a casual reception.

The TBA is hosting a free Zoom Roundtable later this month focused on three recent U.S. Supreme Court cases and how they impact lawyers in Tennessee. The event will take place Sept. 19 from noon to 1 p.m. CDT. Panelists will provide a practical overview of the rulings and answer questions from attendees. Registration is required by 10 a.m. CDT the morning of the event to receive the log in information. The cases to be discussed are: Kennedy v. Bremerton School District, West Virginia v. EPA, and Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. CLE credit is available for a minimal fee.

Don't miss this year's 34th Annual Health Law Forum, taking place in person Oct. 20-21 at the Music City Center in downtown Nashville. This year's program will include a keynote address by Interim Health Commissioner Dr. Morgan McDonald and sessions on fraud and abuse, current and future issues in artificial intelligence and machine-based learning, the latest on research and clinical trials, and post-Roe concerns for healthcare workers. The TBA Animal Law Section will host its Annual Forum at the Nashville Zoo this Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CDT. This fun CLE provides attendees the chance to earn six CLE hours (five general and one dual) with an extended lunch break to explore the zoo. This year’s forum will feature topics relevant to several practice areas, including courtroom programs involving animals, conservation efforts, pet liability, landowner privacy concerns and ethics. Breakfast, lunch and zoo admission are included with registration.
