Make plans now to join the TBA for the 2023 Animal Law Forum, set for Sept. 22 at the Nashville Zoo. This annual favorite will feature topics relevant to several practice areas, including general ethics, pets in divorce, veterinarian liability, crimes against animals, conservation and more. Registration is now open for the TBA’s 37th Annual CLE Ski set for Jan. 20-25, 2024, in Snowmass, Colorado. The YLD is replaying a series of CLE webcasts from earlier in the year to help lawyers refresh and rejuvenate their practice. Tune in on Aug. 30 from noon to 1 p.m. CDT for the final installment and learn how to use an engagement letter to protect your practice. A panel will discuss what should be included in an engagement letter to set the tone of the attorney/client relationship and protect yourself, your license and firm. The TBA Young Lawyers Division is replaying three CLE webcasts from earlier in the year to help lawyers refresh and rejuvenate their practice. On Aug. 25, join colleagues for How to Log Off When Your Workday is Done. This program will focus on carving out time for yourself even when others expect you to be available at a moment’s notice. Panelists will discuss tips and tricks for setting boundaries around your personal time, managing expectations with clients and other attorneys, incorporating wellness into your day, and the benefits of logging off and getting out of the office.

Join Immediate Past TBA President Tasha Blakney, Immediate Past TBA YLD President Brittany Faith and their colleagues for informative and lively talks on How to Measure Success on Aug. 14, How to Log Off When Your Workday is Done on Aug. 25 and How to Use Your Engagement Letter on Aug. 30. The first program will teach the business concept of key performance indicators for lawyers, focusing on the different ways to measure success, how to hit goalposts all year round instead of waiting until the end of the year, and how to self-evaluate including receipts, hours and other trackable key performance indicators.
