The TBA’s 2024 Environmental Forum will take place in person on Nov. 15 in Nashville. This year’s program will address topics such as endangered species litigation, underground storage tanks, drinking water, the Chevron decision, brownfields, ethics and more. The annual Hot Topics in Real Estate seminar presented in partnership with the Tennessee Land Title Association will be held virtually on Nov. 8 from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. CDT. More information about specific topics and speakers will be announced soon.

Stuart Teicher, the CLE Performer, is back with three new sessions. Join him on Nov. 7 for one, two or all three of these webcasts! From 9-10 a.m., Teicher will look at a host of grammar and punctuation rules that don’t make sense and are in some cases are not even rules in "Legal Writing Rules You SHOULD Be Breaking." From 10:15-11:15 a.m., Teicher will connect the cast of "Friends" to a number of ethics rules in "Friends ... An Ethical Sitcom?" To wrap up the series, Teicher will look at the worst criminals in history and the ethics lessons they teach us. "From Bonnie and Clyde to Bernie Madoff: What the Biggest Thieves in History Teach About Attorney Ethics" will run from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All times in central time zone.

Attorneys interested in estate planning will have the chance to gain valuable knowledge and enjoy a round of Topgolf at a special event on Nov. 7. The program, which will feature three hours of CLE programming, is designed for new attorneys and those looking to add estate planning to their practice. Make plans now to join colleagues for the 2024 Court of Criminal Appeals (CCA) Bootcamp on Oct. 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. CDT. The CCA can be unfamiliar territory for most lawyers, requiring not only thorough preparation but also mastery of oral and written advocacy. The boot camp allows lawyers to observe oral arguments in real cases, followed by analysis by counsel who will discuss preparation, tips and considerations for deciding to seek review in the court.
