TBA Young Lawyers Division’s Rookie Series will be back next month with a new installment. Join colleagues on Dec. 13 for Personal Injury Law Part 2. The live one-hour webcast will start at noon CST and provide insights into handling more difficult personal injury cases. Topics include complex liability scenarios, strategies for catastrophic injury claims, and advanced litigation techniques such as motions in limine, effective deposition strategies and expert witness challenges. The program will wrap up with a session on navigating difficult negotiations while maintaining professional integrity. Those who missed Personal Injury Law Part 1 can catch up here.

The TBA Young Lawyers Division (YLD) is sponsoring a webcast on Nov. 21 beginning at noon CST titled "What Attorneys Must Know About Secondary and Vicarious Trauma." A panel of speakers will explore how exposure to the traumatic experiences of clients can affect lawyers' mental health and overall well-being. Panelists also will share ways attorneys can safeguard their mental health and support colleagues. Speakers include S. Chris Troutt, CEO of the Papillon Center; psychotherapist and behavioral health executive Lindsey O'Connell; and clinical psychologist Dr. Brynda Quinn. YLD member Patrick Morrison will moderate the discussion.

Produced by the TBA Women in the Profession Committee, the third annual Raising the Bar program will be held Dec. 4 at Baker Donelson's Nashville offices. Attendees will hear from a full roster of speakers and enjoy opportunities to network during breakfast and a reception after the program. This year's Raising the Bar CLE will address ways to successfully tackle personal and professional life transitions. The program will kick off with keynote speaker Megan Barry, who will discuss her new book 'It's What You Do Next: The Fall and Rise of Nashville's First Female Mayor.' The next two sessions will focus on personal and professional life transitions for attorneys and feature panelists such as Chancellor Anne Martin, former Judge Bernice Donald, former Chancellor Ellen Lyle, Casey Duhart, Paul Ney and Kisha Cheeks Rucker. The program will wrap up with a session on career development, including ways to advocate for professional advancement.

Just in time for Veterans Day, the TBA's "General Introduction to the Practice of Veterans Law" program is now available on demand. The CLE program for attorneys interested in representing veterans covers topics such as Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) claims procedures, eligibility for benefits and appeals processes.
