The TBA Creditors Practice Section will hold its annual forum on Oct. 1 in Nashville. The event will kick off with registration at 9 a.m. followed by programming from 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and a networking reception from 3:15 to 5 p.m. CDT. Topics to be covered include a case law update, administrative action update, e-filing, AI and the sovereign citizen movement. The program will offer three general and one dual CLE credits. The 2025 Southeast Complex Litigation Conference will be held Oct. 29 at the Tennessee Bankers Association in Nashville, offering updates on mass torts, class actions and whistleblower cases. National litigators will discuss emerging litigation involving medical devices, pharmaceutical drugs and consumer products, as well as best practices for identifying, prosecuting and defending complex cases. Session topics include class actions and multidistrict litigation basics, whistleblower claims under the False Claims Act and key trends in aggregate litigation. Speakers include Mark Chalos of Lieff, Cabraser, Heimann & Bernstein and Tricia Herzfeld of Herzfeld, Suetholz, Gastel, Leniski & Wall, with additional speakers and content to be announced in the coming weeks. The TBA’s Adoption Law Section will host its 2025 Adoption Law Forum on Sept. 19, offering a full day of programming on legislative and case law updates, child development and a judicial panel. The TBA Construction Law Section will host the inaugural Joint Georgia/Tennessee Construction Conference Oct. 9-10 in Chattanooga. The two-day event will kick off with a welcome networking reception followed by a day of high quality CLE sessions for both Georgia and Tennessee lawyers. Topics include regional differences in construction law, a view from the bench session featuring judges and arbitrators, a case study session and more. Speakers confirmed so far include Atlanta lawyer Mark Carter with Buchalter, Cobb County Superior Court Judge Julie Jacobs, Memphis lawyer Regan Steepleton with Evans Petree, and Chattanooga lawyers William G. Colvin and Elisa Fox and Timothy Gibbons with Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel. The program will offer 6.75 total CLE hours, including one dual hour.
