The TBA’s three-day General Practice CLE will be Aug. 18-20 in Nashville. It will feature 15 hours of best practices and updates in various areas of the law, including ethics hours. On Aug. 26, FastTrack CLEs on site in Knoxville and Memphis will provide seven hours of live credit and eight prepaid credits to complete online at any time, from home or on your mobile device. This year’s annual Federal Practice CLE on July 28 will focus on pre-trial issues, including presentations on pleadings, pre-answer motions and related strategies. Additional sessions will explore amendments to the Federal Civil Rules, which took effect in December 2015, and their impact on practioners. Finally, the program will look at rules related to expert disclosures and alternative dispute resolution techniques.

Experts at the 2016 Elder Law Forum in Nashville will share new and timely information related to perennial topics of Medicaid planning, conservatorships and special needs trusts in Tennessee. The CLE course, approved for 5.75 credits, will also feature a Vanderbilt University geriatrician who will address the unique needs of older adults. The event will be held on July 15 from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the AT&T Building, 333 Commerce Street.

Urgent Care: Trends, Compliance and Regulatory Issues, a CLE course on July 12 from noon-4:15 p.m. at the Tennessee Bar Center, will address the corporate practice of medicine, staffing issues, compliance matters, permits and licensures. A panel of experts will provide their unique perspectives on how new urgent care health care trends will impact hospitals, physicians and urgent care companies. The course is approved for three CLE credits.

Nashville attorneys Stanley Graham and Andrew Naylor, both of Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis LLP, will explain the new federal overtime rule in a one-hour webcast CLE on June 28 at noon CST. The changes include increasing the minimum salary required for exempt employees from $23,660 to over $47,000 per year. The course, approved for one CLE credit, will replay on July 21.

The 2016 Law Practice Conference For New Lawyers on June 29 will offer advice on solo and small firm practice, best practices in billing and how to form successful client relationships. The course is scheduled from noon to 4:15 p.m. at the Tennessee Bar Center. The program, approved for four dual credits, will also be available in a live webcast.

The TBA will offer seven hours of dual CLE credit at its Summer CLE Blast on July 20. Take as many or as few hours as you need at the event from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Tennessee Bar Center in Nashville. Preregistration is not required and payment will be determined at checkout based on hours completed.
