The 2016 Court Square series is heading to Kingsport. On Sept. 8, the course will be presented at the Higher Education Center. Mark Fulks, Parke Morris and Donald J. Farinato will address ethics in legal writing, privilege law in Tennessee and the revised Uniform Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act.

This year’s Court Square CLE series will launch Sept. 7 at First Farmers Bank in Columbia. Nathan Ridley, Jeff Carson and Roger Maness will address legislative updates, estate planning for digital assets and family law in mediation. Learn more or register online.

The TBA’s annual Court Square CLE Series is coming to a town near you! Throughout the month of September, programs will be offered in Columbia, Kingsport, Clarksville, Cookeville, Chattanooga, Dyersburg and Jackson. Each program will run three hours and provide attorneys with the latest developments in multiple areas of the law.

On Aug. 17, a new TBA CLE will provide key updates for state government lawyers. Sessions will cover procurement contracts, rules of procedure and evidence in administrative proceedings, legislative updates, negotiation skills, ethics and issues with public private partnerships. Don’t have time during the week to get your ethics hours? On Saturday, Aug. 20, the TBA is offering three hours of ethics CLE credit. Nashville attorneys Tony Greer, Andrew Rhea and Benjamin Whitehouse will present a special CLE webcast on captive insurance on Aug. 23. The program will use case examples to demonstrate the process of conducting a feasibility study and determining how to structure a captive. On Aug. 2, Lars Daniel with Guardian Digital Forensics in Raleigh will present a special CLE webcast on computer forensics. He will use real life examples to show how forensic artifacts recovered from computers are used in legal cases. Other topics will include best practices in data collection, understanding deleted data, challenging digital evidence and expert testimony. A CLE on Tennessee and federal tax law will be held at the Bar Center on Sept. 12. The program will include updates on Section 1031 exchanges, the Tennessee Tax Regulation Project, sales and use tax, and new proposed regulations under § 385. Richard H.
