The TBA Labor and Employment Law Section has organized two "Fall Foray" events on either end of the state. At each location, the event will include a free one-hour ethics CLE on “Brain Health for Lawyers – the Neuroscience of Resilience” and a casual reception. Plaintiff and defense lawyers are invited to come socialize across "enemy" lines. On Dec. 5, the program will be held in Jackson from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce. On Dec. 9, the program will take place in Knoxville from 4 to 6 p.m. at Kramer Rayson.

New for 2019 and brought to you by the TBA’s Federal Practice Section, the Federal Practice Winter Forum will take place Dec. 3 at the Tennessee Bar Center. Topics will include prosecutorial discretion, executive clemency and criminal justice reform. The program offers one hour of dual credit and two hours of general credit.

Join your colleagues for the Juvenile and Children's Law Winter Forum next Monday at the Tennessee Bar Center. The program will include topics from Doug Dimond with the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services as he provides a “Case Update for Termination of Parental Rights and Related Cases,” and Brittany Lavalle with the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. The forum will provide 1.5 hours of dual credit and 1.5 hours of general credit.

Apps like Snapchat and WhatsApp claim that messages and photos sent through the apps disappear, raising the question of what to do when the apps may contain key evidence. The “Gone in a Snap” CLE on Dec. 11 will help lawyers identify which sources of electronic evidence to examine and how to try to collect and preserve the evidence before it's gone. The TBA's Immigration Law Fall Forum on Nov. 22 will include some of the most relevant topics in today’s constantly changing immigration landscape.
