The TBA’s Litigation Law Section will hold its annual forum this Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. CDT. The program will feature a three-hour live virtual component as well as two exclusive online videos (each lasting one hour) to watch after the event, for a total of four general and one dual CLE hours. Topics for the live portion include federal courtroom practice and procedure, state procedure and application, and a panel discussion on caps on damages. The recorded sessions will focus on the key differences between federal and state appellate practice and pre-suit investigation techniques.

The 2020 Labor & Employment Law Forum Lunchtime Webcast Series launches next week, featuring one-hour webcasts on Monday through Friday from noon until 1 p.m. CDT. The series kicks off with a case law update on Monday, a session on workplace privacy on Tuesday, an update on wage and hour developments on Wednesday and a conversation about the arbitration process on Thursday. The series wraps up on Friday with a judicial panel discussing best practices in appellate courts. The TBA’s 2020 Administrative Law Annual Forum will be held virtually this year on Nov. 20 from noon until 3 p.m. CDT. The TBA’s Adoption Law Section will present the 2020 Adoption Law Forum as a live virtual event on Sept. 24 from noon to 3:45 p.m. This year’s program will focus on post adoption contact agreements, including recent changes, basics and ethics. Speakers include Douglas Earl Dimond, general counsel of the state Department of Children's Services, who will provide legislative updates affecting the practice area; Bob Tuke with Trauger & Tuke; and Atlanta attorney Lori Surmay.
