TBA CLE will present the 2020 Environmental Law Forum on Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. CST via Zoom Webinar. This year's forum will feature updates regarding PFAS litigation, OSHA compliance for environmental professionals, ethics and much more. The Administrative Law Annual Forum will be a virtual event held on Friday, Nov. 20 from 12 to 3 p.m. CT. This program will offer attendees 2 general and 1 dual CLE hours. The program will start with a session focused on the process of removing monuments and memorials from public lands and explain how the Tennessee Historical Commission is involved. The next session will explore the relationship between compliance and the practice of law. The program will end with a dual credit session featuring Laura Chastain from the Board of Professional Responsibility, as she will discuss ethical considerations for lawyers using social media.

The TBA Real Estate Law Section, in conjunction with the Tennessee Land Title Association, will host the 2020 Hot Topics Forum on Nov. 13. The forum, which will be offered exclusively as a live virtual program, will run from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. CST. Attendees will hear presentations on case law updates, legislative updates, HOAs, commercial real estate, force majeure, multi-jurisdictional matters and the unauthorized practice of the law.

The TBA’s 20th annual Health Law Primer and 32nd annual Health Law Forum will be held virtually this year. The TBA’s Tax Law Section will offer its Annual Tax Law Forum as a live virtual event next Friday from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. CDT. Nashville lawyer Michael Goode with Lewis Thomason and Chattanooga lawyer Terrence Olsen with the Olsen Law Firm will provide a legislative update; Kristin Husat, assistant commissioner & general counsel for the Tennesseee Department of Revenue will focus on the state sales tax; and E. Keith Uselton with Uselton Clay & Bright PC will cover developments in the CARES Act.

The TBA’s Adoption Law Section will present its 2020 Adoption Law Forum as a live virtual event this Thursday, Sept. 24 from noon to 3:45 p.m. CDT. This year’s program will focus on post adoption contact agreements, including recent changes, basics and ethics. Speakers include Douglas Earl Dimond, general counsel of the state Department of Children's Services, who will provide legislative updates affecting the practice area; Bob Tuke with Trauger & Tuke in Nashville; and Atlanta attorney Lori Surmay. The program offers 2.5 hours of general credits and one hour of dual credit. A virtual networking reception will take place at the end of the program.

The TBA Federal Law Section will present its 2020 Annual Forum as a virtual program next Tuesday beginning at 2:30 p.m. CDT. During the two-hour live presentation, University of Memphis School of Law Professor Steven Mulroy will provide details on voting in 2020 and Cecile VanDevender, appellate chief with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Tennessee, will provide an update on U.S. Supreme Court cases. Those registering for this year's forum also will have access to two one-hour recordings to watch at any time — Canons of Constitutional and Contract Interpretation with Sherrard Roe Voigt & Harbison lawyer Eric Osborne and Corpus Linguistic with Annika Boone, a law clerk with the Utah Supreme Court — for a total of four hours of CLE credit.

The 2020 Creditors Practice Annual Forum will be held virtually on Sept. 30 from 1 to 4 p.m. CDT and will offer attendees the chance to earn two general and one dual CLE hours. Judge Lynda Jones and Judge Phyllis Gardner will kick off the program with a judicial panel that will be followed by a discussion on the future of collections and bankruptcy and conclude with an update on legal technology. You must register before 11 a.m. CDT on Sept. 30 to receive the Zoom email invitation.
