The first installment, set for Feb. 5, will feature a judicial panel of criminal court judges discussing how technology is being used in their courtrooms. The panel will include U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee Chief Judge S. Thomas Anderson, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee Susan Lee, and Davidson County Criminal Court Judge Mark Fishburn. Jackson attorney C. Mark Donahoe with The Donahoe Firm will moderate the session. The one-hour program will begin at 11 a.m. CST.

This program has been postponed due to ongoing concerns about gathering in person. It will be rescheduled when it is safe to do so. The TBA’s annual Animal Law Forum will take place April 9 at the Nashville Zoo and will provide updates on trends and advancements in animal law. The zoo’s president and chief executive officer will be on hand to discuss conservation efforts, laws affecting procurement, care for zoo animals and more. Five other speakers will cover topics such as ethical considerations for animals and the law, legislative updates and laws governing farm animals. Programming will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST. Zoo admission, breakfast and lunch are included.

On Feb. 5, the morning session will feature a judicial panel of criminal court judges discussing how technology is being used in their courtrooms, while the afternoon session will review the pros and cons of facial recognition technology. On Feb. 12, the morning session will focus on technology used in elections while the afternoon session will feature the not-to-miss Bill & Phil Show. The series wraps up on Feb. 19 with a morning session featuring civil court judges discussing how technology is being used in their courtrooms, and an afternoon session on using technology in remote depositions and trials.
