TBA's solo health plan just got a major upgrade. Effective now, the solo plan has transitioned from Cigna to Anthem BlueCross BlueShield. The Anthem BlueCard PPO is a nationwide network offering expanded flexibility and services based on market demand and member feedback. The solo plan features monthly enrollment with four options — so if you are a solo practitioner, we encourage you to explore your options and enroll today. This upgrade also aligns TBA's solo plan with our group health insurance program, which offers BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and open for enrollment each fall.

Twelve attorneys licensed in Tennessee were admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court during the 39th annual TBA Academy this month. TBA President Heidi Barcus moved for admission of the members during a regular court session in Washington, D.C. Those admitted before the high court were Nashville attorney Paige Bernick; Knoxville lawyer Stefanie Bowen; Nashville attorney Stuart Burkhalter; Memphis lawyer Chad Cardwell; Nashville attorney Stephanie Celada; Morristown lawyer Aaron Chapman; Lewisburg attorney Louisa Davis; Alabama lawyer Charles “Chip” Dawson Jr.; Texas attorney Orlando Dizon; Chattanooga lawyer Michael Kuebler; Knoxville attorney Brandon Morrow, and Nashville lawyer Bernadette Welch. The TBA announced today that open enrollment for its group health insurance has been extended to Dec. 15. Due to strong enrollment, member interest and requests for additional time to review coverage options, TBA Member Insurance Solutions has negotiated a one-time extension. After Dec. 15, enrollment will be closed until Fall 2026. The plan, offered through BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, is available exclusively to TBA members and offers guaranteed issue coverage with no health questions or pre-existing condition exclusions.
