The Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville and its Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts (VLPA) program will hold a legal clinic on Nov. 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. CDT. Artists, musicians or other creatives are invited to attend and speak to an attorney at no cost for 30 minutes about any arts-related legal questions. Those who would like to participate should register here by Oct. 28. A VLPA staff member will contact registrants to gather more information and determine pro bono eligibility. The Legal Aid Society will hold an expungement clinic this coming Friday in Nashville at the Belmont Ministry Center, 2005 12th Ave. S. 37204. The clinic will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. CDT. To volunteer, contact Kendra Cheek at kcheek@las.org. See all clinics for October.

The Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands will hold a clinic tomorrow in Murfreesboro from 3-4:30 p.m. CDT. The event will take place at Greenhouse Ministries, 309 S. The Arts & Business Council's Volunteer Lawyers and Professionals for the Arts is joining the law firm of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings in providing free legal services for Black-owned small businesses and nonprofits at a clinic on Oct. 20. Issues to be covered include questions about business formation, corporate governance, contract review and navigating local ordinances and state regulations. Eligible businesses may receive up to one hour of assistance but must register by Oct. 17. Clients may sign up online. To volunteer, email vlpa@abcnashville.org.

The next Veterans’ Legal Advice Clinic — a joint project of Knoxville area legal organizations — will take place this coming Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. EDT at the Knoxville Community Law Office, 1101 Liberty St. This general advice and referral clinic is supported by the Knoxville Bar Association Barristers and Young Lawyers Division, Legal Aid of East Tennessee, Knox County Public Defender’s Community Law Office, University of Tennessee  College of Law, Lincoln Memorial University-Duncan School of Law, and the local Veterans Affairs office. Legal Aid of East Tennessee will host a free clinic in Loudon County on Oct. 1. Attorneys interested in volunteering can sign up online or email Caitlin Torney at CTorney@laet.org. The clinic will focus on power of attorney, health care power of attorney and living will forms. It will be held from 9 a.m. to noon CDT at the Church of the Resurrection, 917 Pond Rd., Loudon 37774. The clinic is partnership between Legal Aid, the Tennessee Supreme Court’s Justice for All initiative and the Duncan School of Law. View a flyer for the event.

Legal Aid of East Tennessee, the Chattanooga Bar Association YLD and the TBA YLD are hosting an expungement clinic workday on Sept. 30 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. EDT at the Edney Innovation Center in Chattanooga. Volunteer attorneys will gather and work together to review client records for expungement eligibility. To volunteer sign up online or email mdevoe@laet.org.
