Attorney volunteers are needed for a legal clinic and resource fair being hosted Saturday by Davidson County General Sessions Judge Rachel Bell and the Music City Community Court. The event will include an expungement clinic, legal clinic, indigency docket and resource fair. It will take place in person from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. CST at the Andrew Jackson Boys & Girls Club, 916 16th Ave. N., Nashville, TN 37208. View a flyer or sign up to volunteer.

The Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands will hold a veterans clinic next Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. CDT at Operation Stand Down, 1125 12th Ave. S., Nashville 37203. To volunteer for the clinic, contact Kendra Cheek, 615-780-7131. See all December clinics.

The Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands will hold three clinics next week. On Wednesday, a clinic will be held from 4-6 p.m. at the downtown Nashville Public Library. On Thursday, the group will hold its Greenhouse Ministries clinic in Murfreesboro from 3-4:30 p.m. Then on Saturday, it will hold the McHugh Clinic at Belmont from 8:30-10:30 a.m. All times are central. The next Second Saturday Legal Clinic (2SLAC) will take place Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to noon CST at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library. Firm sponsors are needed as well as individual volunteer attorneys and support staff! Sign-up here. Then on Dec. 13, the Memphis Veterans Phone Clinic will take place from noon to 2 p.m. CST. Volunteer attorneys are needed to provide legal advice to veterans on a variety of civil issues ranging from child support to debt relief. Certification to practice before the Veterans Administration is not required to participate in this clinic. Contact Jake Dickerson to volunteer.

The Arts & Business Council's Volunteer Lawyers and Professionals for the Arts is joining the law firm of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings in providing free legal services for Black-owned small businesses and nonprofits at a clinic on Nov. 17. Issues to be covered include questions about business formation, corporate governance, contract review and navigating local ordinances and state regulations. Eligible businesses may receive up to one hour of assistance but must register by Monday. Clients may sign up online. To volunteer, email vlpa@abcnashville.org.

Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy’s office and partners will host an expungement clinic and job fair tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. CDT at the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church. According to the Daily Memphian, ex-offenders will be able to get help with expungement, child support, traffic fines and fees and job opportunities. The event is being held in partnership with the Shelby County Criminal Court Clerk’s Office, FedEx Ground, NAACP, Memphis City Court Clerk and Memphis Area Transit Authority.

The Knoxville Bar Association and its Bankruptcy Section, in partnership with Legal Aid of East Tennessee and U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Suzanne H. Bauknight, will hold a Pro Bono Debt Relief Clinic on Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to noon EST. The event will take place at the Knox County Public Defender's Community Law Office, 1101 Liberty St., Knoxville 37919. Judge Bauknight will present a short overview of the bankruptcy system and other solutions for clients before volunteer lawyers meet with them to discuss their options. Sign up to volunteer.

The Chattanooga office of Legal Aid of East Tennessee (LAET) is hosting its annual Pro Bono Night this Thursday at Chattanooga Whiskey Event Hall. The evening will feature food, drinks, music, a silent auction and the group’s traditional awards ceremony. This year, LAET will be honoring the partnership and pro bono work of attorneys Emily O’Donnell and Rebecca Miller, as well as the Chattanooga Hamilton County Family Justice Center and the Chattanooga Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. On Friday, there will be an Expungement Clinic at the Belmont Ministry Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. CDT.
