The law license of Patrick R. Egger was transferred to disability inactive status on Feb. 19. Egger cannot practice law while on disability inactive status and may return after reinstatement by the Tennessee Supreme Court after showing clear and convincing evidence that the disability has been removed. Elizabeth Catherine Cox was suspended on Jan. 30 for three years, with one year served as an active suspension, retroactive to February 3, 2014, and the remaining two years served on probation. Cox revealed damaging client information to the court in her request to withdraw, failed to communicate with her client and missed a scheduled court appearance, stopped communicating with her clients, provided legal advice to a client while suspended from the practice of law and failed to advise clients of her temporary suspension. Nashville lawyer William Caldwell Hancock was censured yesterday for practicing law while suspended. Hancock had been suspended on Aug. 21, 2013, for failure to complete CLE requirements. While suspended, he continued representing a client by drafting and filing legal pleadings. Hancock entered into a conditional guilty plea and consented to the censure. View the BPR notice.

Darren T. Cole of St. George, Utah, was suspended by the Tennessee Supreme Court for three years on Tuesday. The court took the action based on four complaints of misconduct. Cole formerly maintained an office in Maury County. The court also ordered him to pay the costs of the disciplinary proceeding. View the BPR notice.

Knox County lawyer Roy Patrick Neuenschwander was suspended from the practice of law on Monday for misconduct. After settling a personal injury case, Neuenschwander’s borrowed money from his client’s settlement proceeds. After his client passed away, Neuenschwander agreed to represent her son in connection with her estate. He then signed a promissory note in which he agreed to re-pay the loan to the son but did not advise either client of a conflict of interest and the need to obtain independent legal advice, nor did he obtain the clients’ written, informed consent. The law license of Putnam County lawyer Gary N. Lovellette was reinstated Monday (Feb. 2) by the Tennessee Supreme Court. Bradley Aaron Teplitsky was publically censured yesterday (Jan. 28) for submitting a false affidavit to the CLE Commission claiming to have attended two Memphis Bar Association seminars. Darryl Wayne Humphrey received a public censure Monday (Jan. 26) for failing to keep his client’s funds in his trust account, failing to promptly issue a refund upon termination of the representation and failing to maintain reasonable communication with his client after the refund was requested.
