The law license of Gayle A. Lattimore was transferred to disability inactive status yesterday (June 15). Lattimore may return to the practice of law after reinstatement by the Tennessee Supreme Court upon showing of clear and convincing evidence that the disability has been removed and she is fit to practice. The law license of William C. Gosnell was reinstated yesterday (June 9). The Tennessee Supreme Court had transferred Gosnell’s license to disability inactive status in December 2014 and referred the matter to a hearing panel to determine Gosnell’s capacity to practice law and respond to or defend against a disciplinary complaint. A hearing panel determined Gosnell failed to demonstrate he suffered from a disability that would make it impossible for him to respond to or defend against the underlying disciplinary complaint. The Tennessee Supreme Court yesterday lifted a temporary suspension imposed on Knox County lawyer Yarboro Ann Sallee. She had been suspended on Feb. 6 for failing to respond to the Board of Professional Responsibility regarding a complaint of misconduct. Read the BPR notice.

John Lyndon Lowery was temporarily suspended by the Tennessee Supreme Court yesterday (May 28) upon finding he had misappropriated funds and posed a threat of substantial harm to the public. Jamie Ellen Machamer has been temporarily suspended from the practice of law for failing to respond to the Board of Professional Responsibility regarding a complaint of misconduct.

The Tennessee Supreme Court has suspended the law license of Brentwood attorney Sharon England and Nashville lawyer Jennifer Jones for defaulting on the repayment of their student loans. The court has authority under Supreme Court Rule 9, Section 37.1, to take the action after giving lawyers 30 days to show why their licenses should not be suspended. View the BPR notice.
