Seven lawyers have been reinstated to the practice of law after being suspended for a variety of administrative violations, including nonpayment of professional taxes in 2015, failure to comply with CLE requirements in 2015, failure to comply with CLE requirements in 2012 and nonpayment of fees in 2011. The law license of Yarboro Ann Sallee was placed on disability inactive status Nov. 18 by the Tennessee Supreme Court. The Knox County lawyer told the BPR that she suffers from a disability that prevents her from defending herself against a disciplinary complaint. Sallee’s law license was suspended on July 23. The Tennessee Supreme Court temporarily suspended Davidson County lawyer Anton Lorenzo Jackson from the practice of law on Nov. 18. Jackson failed to respond to the Board of Professional Responsibility regarding a complaint of misconduct. He is immediately precluded from accepting any new cases and is required to cease representing existing clients by Dec. 18. Read the BPR release.

The law license of Amanda Thompson Jordan was reinstated on Oct. 19 by order of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. Jordan had been placed on inactive status in 2003.

The Tennessee Supreme Court temporarily suspended Shelby County lawyer Michael Leon Harris from the practice of law on Nov. 6 after finding Harris failed to respond to the Board regarding complaints of misconduct. Harris is immediately precluded from accepting any new cases, and he must cease representing existing clients by Dec. 6. Read the BPR release.

The Tennessee Supreme Court transferred the law license of Knox County lawyer D'Artagnan Honre Perry to disability inactive status on Nov 6. Read the BPR release.

The court also transferred the law license of Williamson County lawyer Clyde Douglas Cluck to disability inactive status on Nov. 6. Read the BPR release.

Perry and Cluck cannot practice law while on disability inactive status.

W. Alan Rose, a 2014 Smyrna Town Court judge candidate, was suspended by the Tennessee Supreme Court on Wednesday. The Daily News Journal reports that Rose was charged after admitting to asking a client, who was an inmate, to acquire prescription pills in exchange for legal services. Rose pled guilty in September to one count of being an addict in possession of a firearm, a felony that caries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.

The Tennessee Supreme Court today issued three orders suspending Tennessee-licensed attorneys who did not pay their registration fee to the Board of Professional Responsibility and/or did not file a mandatory compliance statement that eligible client funds are held in accounts participating in the Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts (IOLTA) program. Those who have complied with the rules since the orders were issued, and for whom notification of a status change has been received from the Board of Professional Responsibility, are noted as reinstated. The Tennessee Supreme Court suspended Rutherford County lawyer Walter Alan Rose on Oct. 30. Rose was suspended based upon his plea of guilty to violating Title 18 under United States Code, Addict in Possession of a Firearm. Read the BPR release.

Shelby County lawyer William Clark Barnes Jr. received a Public Censure on Oct. 28 from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court. During the representation of a client in a civil lawsuit, Barnes’s law license was suspended for failing to comply with continuing legal education requirements. Barnes failed to notify his clients about the suspension. Read the BPR release.
