Bio:

Angelia M. Nystrom is Vice President for Advancement and Chief Legal Counsel for East Tennessee Foundation. She was previously the Executive Director of Specialty Programs for the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture. Prior to joining the UTIA, she was the Director of Planned Giving for the University of Tennessee Foundation. Before UT, she was an attorney in private practice for nearly 18 years, spending the last 11 years at Baker Donelson in the Nashville and Knoxville offices. She received her law degree from Mercer University and was a visiting scholar at the University of Tennessee. She recently received an LLM in Estate Planning and Elder Law from Western New England University in Massachusetts. Her experience includes charitable gift planning, estate planning, estate and trust administration, real property transactions, conservatorships and guardianships, general corporate matters, probate litigation and use tax litigation. She is a frequent lecturer on estate planning, probate and elder care issues. Angelia is also Of Counsel at Long, Ragsdale & Waters in Knoxville. 
Angelia is a member of the Knoxville Bar Association and is a regular contributor to DICTA, which is the Knoxville Bar's monthly publication. She also serves on the Functions and Children's Issues Committees. Ms. Nystrom is actively involved in the Tennessee Bar Association. She is Past Chair of the Estate Planning and Probate Section, and currently serves on its Executive Council. Additionally, she has served as coordinator for the Senior Law Handbook, as well as on the CLE Committee. She is a Fellow of the American, Tennessee and Knoxville Bar Foundations and the TBA YLD.
She is the Past Chair of the Tennessee Bar Foundation, former President of the Knoxville Estate Planning Council, and the current Treasurer for the Smoky Mountain Planned Giving Council. Additionally, she is involved in a number of other organizations, including the Knoxville Garden Club, BSA, Leadership Knoxville, and Tennessee Valley Fair Foundation and is Past President of the Carson-Newman University's Alumni Association.
Ms. Nystrom is also a "Swim Mom" and serves as Immediate Past President of the Board of the Greater Knoxville Area Inter-club Swimming Association and is a board member emeritus for University Swim Club.
