Bio:

Megan Arthur's practice includes a wide range of complex litigation in state and federal courts with a significant concentration in family law, including divorce, child custody, parentage, paternity, adoption, child support, alimony and prenuptial agreements. Ms. Arthur understands the life-altering situations her clients face and is dedicated to personally guiding her clients through the legal process with the primary goal being a reasonable, practical and equitable solution to domestic disputes. Ms. Arthur has a stellar reputation in the legal community and is a formidable opponent in the courtroom should your dispute become adversarial.
A native of Memphis and a graduate of The Hutchison School, Ms. Arthur earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Methodist University in 2000. After graduation, she served three years as a broker's assistant to multiple senior investment executives at a national financial planning corporation before earning her Juris Doctorate degree in 2006 from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law where she earned many accolades, including awards for Best Legal Memorandum and Best Appellate Brief. She also served as a member and published author on the University of Memphis Law Review.
Ms. Arthur is proud to be an active member of the local legal community. Since her admission to practice law in Tennessee in 2006, Ms. Arthur served three terms on the Memphis Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Board of Directors from 2008-2010, served three terms as a member of the steering committee for the Young Lawyers Section of the Memphis Area Legal Services Access to Justice Fundraising Campaign, and served as Vice-President of the Family Law Section of the Memphis Bar Association in 2014 and as President of the Family Law Section in 2015. Ms. Arthur has also served on other community boards and programs, including a three-year term as a member of the board of directors of the Downtown Memphis Commission (formerly the Center City Commission) for Memphis and Shelby County, Tennessee (2010-2013). Ms. Arthur is a graduate of Leadership Memphis's 2011 civic leadership class as well as a graduate of the Tennessee Bar Association's 2012 Law Leadership Class.
Ms. Arthur is a member of the American Bar Association, the Memphis Bar Association, and the Tennessee Bar Association. For six consecutive years, from 2013-2018, she has been selected as a "Rising Star" in Family Law in the Mid-South by "Super Lawyers". In 2015, was nominated and elected as a Barrister Member of the Leo Bearman, Sr. American Inn of Court. In 2017 she was selected and inducted as a Fellow into the Memphis Bar Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Memphis Bar that advocates public awareness of the legal system and encourages and recognizes professionalism among members of the Bar, and most recently in 2018 she completed a three-year term as a nominated and elected member of the Board of Directors for the Memphis Bar Association.
