Bio:

Wynne du Mariau Caffey is a member in Elmore, Stone & Caffey, PLLC. She received her undergraduate degree with highest honors in 1986 from the University of Tennessee, followed by her law degree with honors in 1991. She is licensed to practice in Tennessee and Texas.
She practices litigation (commercial, construction, professional liability defense, products liability and insurance defense). She also mediates cases throughout East and Middle Tennessee as a Rule 31 General Civil Mediator.
Ms. Caffey is a Past President of the Knoxville Bar Association, the statewide Tennessee Lawyers Association for Women, and the East Tennessee Lawyers Association for Women. She is Fellow of both the American and Knoxville Bar Foundations. She also enjoys membership in the International Association of Defense Counsel.
As TLAW President, she was a guest member of the Tennessee Judicial Conference's Executive Committee and the TBA Board of Governors. She was appointed to the TBA Glass Ceiling Taskforce to investigate and report on issues affecting women in legal profession. Under her presidency, TLAW conducted focus groups across the state involving attorneys from private, corporate, government and academic settings to identify practice barriers and "best practices" for use by the Taskforce in rendering its statewide report.
At the request of Tennessee Supreme Court, she serves on the Pro Bono Advisory Committee to the Tennessee Supreme Court's Access to Justice Commission.
She taught Advanced Trial Practice for many years as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Tennessee College of Law. She has frequently lectured to graduate-level students at the University of Tennessee and given seminars to her legal colleagues and other professional groups on issues ranging from tort law updates, complex litigation trials, negotiations, alternative dispute resolution, probate litigation, medical malpractice, Medicare Appeals, law firm management, ethics and access to justice issues. Wynne is a member of the women's service organization, Akima, and served as Secretary of the Board for Komen East Tennessee.
