John W. Stewart of Adams died on Oct. 31. He was 70. Stewart graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1976 and became only the second African American to serve as an Assistant Attorney General for the state of Kentucky, He also served as First Assistant Commonwealth Attorney for Jefferson County from 1988 to 1993.
