Former University of Memphis Law Dean Nicholas L. White died last weekend at his home. He was 94. An Ohio native, White served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and later attended the University of Cincinnati School of Law, graduating with honors in 1956. He practiced for 14 years, before beginning a teaching career at the Indiana University School of Law. He later became dean of the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at Memphis State University, serving from 1977 to 1984 and as interim dean from 1992 to 1993. He retired in 2011. The family will receive relatives and friends in the Fireside Chapel on Oc. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis.
