Day Two of the Southern Conference of Bar Presidents, held this week in Memphis, started with a thoughtful panel on police conduct and civil rights followed by a group discussion on race, politics, and preservation of monuments led by former mayor of Memphis, A.C. Wharton. Several attendees toured the historic National Civil Rights Museum and the Stax Museum. Tomorrow, programming continues with a visit to Graceland, where convention goers will learn about Sam Phillips and Sun Records, as well as Elvis and his impact on the law.
