Joel Henry Moseley Sr. died June 18 in Hendersonville. He was 73. A native of Nashville, Moseley earned his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School and began working for the Metropolitan Nashville Law Department as an attorney. He eventually became executive assistant to Mayor Beverly Briley, the first mayor of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County. Moseley transitioned to private practice in the 1970s and practiced law for many years with his college sweetheart, Alicia Susan Horton, at the law firm of Moseley & Moseley. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Madison. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203 are requested.
