Funeral services will be Friday for John W. “Bill” Dietzen of Chattanooga, who died Tuesday (March 17) at 83. A Vanderbilt University Law School grad, Dietzen was admitted to the bar in 1955 and has been in practice since then. Dietzen was active in the local legal community, serving on the board of the Chattanooga Bar Association, as a founding member of the Chattanooga Legal Aid Society, as president of Chattanooga Christian Legal Society and as founding member of the Ray L. Brock Jr. and Robert E. Cooper Inn of Court. Dietzen also was active in the TBA, serving as president of the Young Lawyers Conference (now the Young Lawyers Division) and as chair of the TBA’s General Practice Section.
