For Failure to File the Annual Inactive Status Fee

On Jan. 1, 2012, the Tennessee Supreme Court adopted amendments to Rule 9, Sections 20.1, 20.2 and 20.8. The amendments included a new requirement that lawyers assuming inactive-status must pay an annual inactive-status fee to the Board of Professional Responsibility. Pursuant to the rule, the fee is due on or before the first day of each attorney’s birth month of each year.

Attorneys who have since complied with fee requirements, and for whom notice has been received from the court, are noted as reinstated.

The TBA provides this information as a member service and not as an official record of an attorney's status. Interested individuals should check with the Board of Professional Responsibility for the official status of a Tennessee licensed attorney.
