In the challenge for one of two U.S. Senate seats, current state Rep. Gloria Johnson of Knoxville won yesterday's Democratic primary against three other contenders, including Marquita Bradshaw, who was the Democratic nominee for the seat in 2020. Johnson will face incumbent Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn in the November election. The Tennessean reports on the race.

In U.S. House primary race results, incumbent Republican Rep. Diana Harshbarger will face Democratic opponent Kevin Jenkins for the District 1 seat; current District 2 Republican Rep. Tim Burchett will face Democrat Jane George; and Chuck Fleischmann, incumbent District 3 representative, will face Democrat Jack Allen. District 4 incumbent Scott DeJarlais won the Republican primary, beating two challengers, and will face Democrat Victoria Isabel Broderick in November. Republican Rep. Andy Ogles edged out challenger Courtney Johnston, a current Metro Nashville Council member, and will face Democrat Maryam Abolfazli in District 5, Axios reports. In other races, Lore Bergman defeated two Democratic rivals for the District 6 seat and will face incumbent Republican John Rose; former Nashville Mayor Megan Barry will be the Democratic challenger to current Republican Rep. Mark Green in District 7; incumbent Republican Rep. David Kustoff will face Democrat Sarah Freeman, who won against four other contenders in District 8; and Republican Charlotte Bergman will face longtime Rep. Steve Cohen, who won against three other opponents, for the District 9 seat.
